IT Architect & Hands-On Developer...
When I architect projects, I am usually involved in the full Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), but I know the dangers of a waterfall model, so I couple that experience with an iterative, proof-of-concept approach.  Below are some of my accomplishments as an IT architect and hands-on developer.

  • Transformed senior management directives of three autonomous business units into a cross-platform Customer Service website built for growth, enabling client to expand its Internet vision on a global scale.  Linked UNIX mainframe, WebSphere App Server on Windows NT, and externally hosted product websites into a seamless web experience, maintaining logos and color schemes, despite user's point of origin.  Integrated HTML & JavaScript on client with Java Servlets & JSPs on Win NT and COBOL, JCL, Net.Data, and DB2 (SQL queries up to 95 lines long) on IBM mainframe, passing XML through MQSeries, allowing customers to log in, check orders, and make credit card payments securely.  Formerly: http://www.imp-usa.com/  [IMP]

  • Customized third party software to create shopping cart e-commerce web application selling cookbooks that runs on Windows NT Server and sends orders to the IBM mainframe for processing.  Identified weaknesses in third party app; solved those problems affecting data format, serialization, backups, and logging by writing automated Perl scripts.  Formerly: http://ecom.imp-usa.com/  [IMP]

  • Architected 3 approaches to solving customer's mainframe webserving needs, then successfully steered client away from costly middleware solution to one running OS/390 UNIX web server with Net.Data to retrieve data from DB2.  [Infocrossing]

  • Business-to-Business Integration:  Defined Java / XML / MQSeries and secure shell (SSH2) interfaces between external hosts and mainframe, establishing two methods for performing DB2 data transfers with vendors -- real-time and asynchronous.  [IMP]

  • Christened "The Solutions Guy" by the Vice President for ability to rapidly build skills in any technology necessary -- Java, XML, MQSeries, JavaScript, and Perl -- to finish projects left incomplete by other vendors.  Established development environments to isolate emerging code from stable, live websites.  Conducted IT studies, influenced product purchases.  [IMP]
