Advising, then making your Information Technology visions a reality

Team Leader & Business Analyst...
I have a Masters degree in Management Information Systems and this background has enabled me to take a systems approach when tackling IT projects.  I wrote my Masters thesis on business process reengineering, so I am very familiar with the right and wrong ways to implement a system.  Below are some of my accomplishments as a team leader and business analyst.

  • Rooted out defects in departmental processes by conducting regular causal analyses to identify sources of problems and instituting action plans to prevent recurrence.  Through teamwork, drove defect inventory down from 200 to 12 in six months while also managing a 20 per week average incoming rate. Tracked errors and their resolution through problem management database.  [IBM]

  • Alerted upper management of schedule impacts and renegotiated deliverables, communicating issues/concerns, as liaison between developers and product's administrative core team.  [IBM]

  • Integrated my own work as well as that of vendors, designers, and autonomous marketing groups to produce an SSL secure Customer Service website.  [Infocrossing & IMP]

  • Led a team of 5 web developers in a 4 month project to overhaul design of IBM Poughkeepsie S/390 Briefing Center website, formerly at http://www.ibm.com/s390/center/ (site has since changed).  [IBM]

  • Conducted thorough analysis of employee awards system at Vassar Brothers Hospital (Poughkeepsie, NY), pinpointing needed hardware and software.  [During Master's degree program at Marist College]

  • Performed complete SDLC for Hobnobbin' Pub (Poughkeepsie, NY).  Analyzed restaurant's operation, then designed, coded, tested, and implemented relational database system that integrated 7 business areas, centralizing and aiding retrieval of data.  [Marist College]

  • Authored and presented at technical symposium Master's thesis --  "Methodologies for Minimizing Risk in Business Process Reengineering Ventures" - identifying two critical risk factors that impede companies from successfully reinventing themselves, and offering recommendations for achieving positive results.  [Marist College]
